Fife Bird Club’s Privacy Statement

Personal Data

The information we hold about you is used for administration purposes and includes your contact details, a record of your current membership status, gift aid eligibility, an overview of our correspondence with you and your contact preferences and consents. We will not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes or for other reasons unless required to do so by law.

Bank details are only shared with the Bacs-approved and FCA-regulated bureau that we use for the purposes of processing Standing Order payments. We may share personal details with HMRC solely for the purposes of recovering tax on Gift Aid.

A printed copy of the personal details held on you can be obtained by sending an email request to memsec@fifebirdclub.org.uk or by writing to the membership secretary whose contact details are included in the regular Club magazine ‘Scope’. Notification of amendments to contact details, or withdrawal of consent to be contacted, can be carried out by the same methods. Responses to these requests will sent within three weeks of the receipt of the request.

Consent

Personal data is also used in order to communicate with members regarding Club events and activities and other relevant information. We will not contact you by email or text message unless you have given your specific consent.

Retention of Personal Data

We will retain the personal details of cancelled and lapsed members for a period of six weeks in order to provide a period of grace for subsequent renewals if there is a change of mind. After this period the contact details will be deleted and no further contact will be possible.
